Robin’s Nest Massage Therapy
I have been a licensed massage therapist since 1994 practicing a combination of different modalities listed below along with many others that I combined per individual client’s needs. Ranging from gentle touch to deep tissue focusing on opening and releasing lactic acid build up and knots allowing the client to feel instant relief and depart with a healthy glow.
These are the different types of modalities offered:
Swedish Massage
A Swedish massage is designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But the benefits of Swedish massage go beyond relaxation. It can help increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility.
Hot Stone Massage
A hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy. It’s used to help you relax and ease tense muscles and damaged soft tissues throughout your body. During a hot stone massage, smooth, flat, heated stones are placed on specific parts of your body.
Aromatherapy
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues.
Lymph Massage
Manual lymphatic drainage is a type of massage based on the hypothesis that it will encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart.
Prenatal, during delivery and postnatal Massage
Prenatal massage is therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.
Infant Massage (Teaching both mother and partner how to as well)
Geriatric Massage
Reiki
Traditional Thai Massage is a form of therapeutic touch that differs in many ways from traditional massage. Instead of a massage table, you lie on a mat on the floor while the massage therapist manipulates your body in certain ways to stimulate organs and improve flexibility. Thai massage combines physical and energetic aspects for holistic wellness, emphasizing yoga stretching positioning, compression massage and energy balance similar to acupressure/ acupuncture.
